Stitching with Friends
It is my pleasure to be surrounded by creative, generous, kind & loving friends. I am inspired daily. Thank you Anne & Jolee for the time & energy shared creating a one of a kind piece of fabric art.
I am blessed.
ps: sorry about the blurry photos.

Crabapple Hill Berry Picking Party Quilt Blocks
I couldn't believe that at least two (2) of the students at Pioneer Quilts were further ahead in this quilt than I am. I have finished stitching block #5 & sewn the first section (four blocks) together. Hope you like the pictures.

Beginning Quilting at Pioneer Quilts
For those of you who already know me, know that I really like teaching. I was asked, at one time, "what do I prefer, teaching or designing?" My answer at the time was teaching, it still is.
Yesterday, we finished our five (5) classes & here are the results. I couldn't be prouder. See for yourselves.
This quilt top belongs to Anne, the colors of this quilt definitely reflect Anne. She did an amazing job.
This quilt top belongs the Katherine, Anne's daughter. I was so excited by her fabric. It is lively & fun. Now if I can only convince her to quilt it in hot pink. Lime green would be great, too. Katherine sews with an older machine, which should sew forever. It was great fun tinkering on her machine.
Cathy, I am inspired. I have always felt that "if you want colors to pop, add black". This quilt top is quiet, elegant. It too reflects its owner. Thank you.
Last, but not least. Carol. What fun I had. I don't normally pick bright fabrics. I really like this one, it reminds me of summer & picnics; it will be a great quilt to wrap in on a cold day in January & remember things to come. (Head slap). How about a cold day in June, wishing for things to come.

Prewash or Not!?!
Do you prewash your fabric or not? I don't...I let everyone inmy classes know that I can barely keep up with laundry.
Here's a trick: If you have a small piece of cloth that you want to wash before you use it &you don't want to use your washer, use your salad spinner. Just a dab a laundry soap, warm water & some elbow grease, a few spins & you have prewashed fabric. Rinse in cold water until all the suds are gone. Lay it out to dry or iron it dry or add it to a load in your dryer, for those of us who have dryers (we American are pretty spoiled).
Jury Duty, designed in Jury Duty. Used 100% cotton fabric. Did not pre-wash. |

Spring Colors
A spot of color to brighten my day. These flowers came from seeds given to be by my mom. She has been gone for 3 years now, thank you for the color each spring. Rain drops add to the texture.
